Give mint a home of its own.

A generous herb. A rather enthusiastic neighbour.

01

Make room for its habits

Mint can spread vigorously through underground stems. A separate container is a practical starting point when you want to keep it out of neighbouring beds.

02

Keep checking the edges

A pot is a management tool, not a promise. Watch spreading stems and roots, especially if the container touches garden soil. Choose a position and moisture regime suited to the variety.

03

Pick what you will use

Identify a culinary mint before bringing it to the kitchen. Take small harvests from a healthy established plant and keep its label with your garden notes.

Enjoy the mint. Keep an eye on its boundaries.
